Life has become quite normal here with little new things to reflect on or share about... We have somewhat of a weekly routine that includes Studying for the classes mixed with running errands during most days, 1 day in the states to to grocery shopping / errands, the occasional trip over to pick up donations or do some business over there, Study for and teach Missionary training class, Study for and Teach pastors training class, study for and teach at the Bible college...
Oh yeah-- the Bible College-- that's a bit new!
I started teaching at a local Bible college in Ensenada, Mexico (1 hour south of us) in the beginning of February. I am teaching 1 class- James - one day a week- Fridays for 2 hours.
It is a really interesting place. Right now the whole college (only in it's second semester) has about 25 students. It is affiliated with Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrietta California and gives out degrees through this Bible College. The Calvary Chapel Bible College system works in such a way that you can take your courses at any of their affiliates around the world. So we have some English, American students along with the majority of Spanish, Mexican students.
The campus is situated in somewhat of a canyon floor beside a usually dry river bed. It is quite isolated-- off the grid as far as cell service, but it does have electricity...
The first couple times I went there I noticed that there was a little creek running across the road. It was about 15 feet across and only a few inches deep.
Then it rained.
Alot...
And now When I go to class, I cross a little river- about 15-20 meters across and a 1 1/2 feet deep!
If there is any more rain- I will definitely need to take my 4x4 truck down to make sure I can get in and out of the school ok!
I hope to get pics or a vid here soon-- if I can remember!!
